Print O' The Wave Shawl

Kerry's picture

Just off the blocking wires, Euny Jang's Print o' the Wave shawl. The yarn is Jamieson & Smith Laceweight, shade L40, and I used 6 balls of it. Needles are 3.5mm.

There are a couple of errors in the pattern where I just had to fudge it.

Looks perfect to me!!!!

Any idea on a good resource on how to knit on the edging?

I'll try to locate the posting that gave me a lightbulb moment re: knit on edgeing....at this point all I recall is that I found it by googling just that. "knit on edging"

It's beautiful! I'm actually considering making this in the future. I hope the pattern errors aren't going to get me in too much trouble.

Absolutely stunning. I can't imagine how long it took to knit the edging ... and then to attach it.

Stunning really, it's geometric yet fluid. It reminds me a bit of M.C. Escher.

It is all so fabulous. Another envy-making piece.

An amazing piece! I'm currently working on Fiddlesticks' Peacock Shawl, and if it's only 1/4 as lovely as your piece, I'll be pleased! I've said it before, but let me say it again: Thanks so much for the inspiration to keep working. Lace does eventually get finished, doesn't it?

It is beautiful, Kerry. I am really hankering to try some lace work but, quite frankly, it terrifies me. I am so afraid I will never get beyond a few rows. Also, I admit, you saying that there are some mistakes in the pattern doesn't inspire confidence either. lol. Ah well, maybe some day.

Stunning, Kerry. I really like the colour - much closr to what you see on a northern lake or ocean then the blue so many associate

Truly an exquisite piece of work. And I might say, as usual. The colour is perfect.

Thanks guys for all your lovely comments. You and this site are part of the inspiration that urges me on to knit and create hand-made garments.

And you inspire many I am sure....so I gotta make sure you stick around....
