255 stitches in 3 minutes !!!

Just saw a blurb on BBC - about the world's fastest knitter, a woman from Shetland, who knits 255 stitches in 3 minutes going to defend her crown this weekend in Minneapolis - at the Mall of America at the Knit Out and Crochet...Should be great! So all you boys (and girls, too) in the Twin Cities area, head out there if you can!

There are DAYS when I don't get that many stitches done...

I would love to see this woman, there is or was a video of her on Youtube, I could never knit that fast, by the time I realized I made a mistake the sweater would be done.

I once knit 255 stitches. Uh, unfortunately I didn't notice how long it took.

I prefer to savor each and every stitch ;)

I wish I were knitting now.

Here's a link to a youtube video of a speed knitter:

She looks so relaxed!

also, you can find in related videos you can see Miriam Tegels who I believe still holds the worlds record knitting 118 sts per minute.

I heard an interview with Hazel Tindall on the BBC's 'Good Evening Shetland' last week. I don't think I caught, though, that it was going to be held at the Mall from Hell (I was living there when they built it). It would appear that Miriam Tegels is a little faster, but it's not clear if they were knitting to the same standard (DK yarn on 4mm needles, 60st wide strip in stockinette).
