The Bowl - Felted

So, here's the finished product! I ended up running it through four times I think and I'm pretty happy with it. And, it just so happens that I had the perfect vase to help shape the bowl. The attached photos show the underside of the bowl and the bowl drying on the vase.

That is sweet looking!

PS...can I have the money that is on the table?

purlyman's picture

Ha! I didn't even notice the money. Just went to go check on it and Matt must've grabbed it when he walked out the door just now.

Damn. A tad off-topic...but would you guys like some irises? I am going to divide them within a month. They are not the standard old fashioned purple. I can email pics.

Sure!! We were just talking about how we should've planted some things last fall. We don't know what to do with our back yard. The front yard is xeriscaped and we wanted to do the same to back yard because the grass is just too much to water. Still not sure what to do...

HEY IRISES! would love some, the ones I had in the yard are like a hundred years old and won't flower anymore, even with dividing. perhaps we should do a plant exchange....I have several things that I will be dividing this year and some that I just want to get rid of but don't just want to throw on the compost heap...perhaps we will need a new thread for this.

I wish I could have irises here. They are my lifelong favourite flower.

Very impressive! Is that Mambo Italiano in the background?

purlyman's picture

That's "Parliamo Italiano" in the background. A textbook - Matt's spent a month in Italy two summers ago learning Italian.

Ah, capisco. E una bella cosa ad imparare Italiano!

E vero! Amo Italiano! Sto andando questa estate per poche settimane. Non posso aspettare per essere là ancora.

I love it. I'm sure this will be quite an interesting piece for the 100 Bowls of Compassion event as I'm sure many people would have never imagined a knitted bowl. I remember when I first became interested in knitting, I was very suprised by the versatility of felted items.

I am shamed by your vastly superior craftsmanship compared to my meager bowl.

Go for it! It really was a fairly simple pattern. I'm sure it'll be great.
