the ol' hammock on the shovel handle trick

Hello, men who knit. Sorry I haven't posted to my blog lately, it's not because I haven't been knitting, that's for sure. I have a couple of projects on the needles right now, and I'm still working on mice for the Humane Society, I have about 50 of them in various stages of completion now but I keep giving them away to every friend I have who has a cat.

Another piece I have on the needles right now is this hammock. I read about the idea here on MWK and I wanted something to knit on a recent trip to my friend's cabin. I left the project up there, about half-done to assure another invitation to the lush cabin... it's probably about 5' long right now. I'm knitting it from clothesline on construction shovel handles. The other guys were intrigues and astounded when I started it and as it started to come together, they were more & more intrigued.

I promise to post a pic when the project is finished, perhaps I will model once again.

I simply will not make any comments about size queens!!!

But actually that looks like fun! I could totally see me sitting outside, enjoying the outdoors, sipping on an adult beverage, and knitting me-self a hammock with shovel handles. Honest to God, it does sound like fun!!!

But dear God, can you imagine doing a K3tog????

MORE adult beverage!!!

There were plenty of adult beverages, that's for damn sure.

damn you for cursing the decreases (although they should be all SSK and K2Tog) at the end of the project, I'll have to let you know how that turns out.

What a project. Can't wait to see the finished hammock. Just be careful and not have too much adult beverage or the shovel handles may get away from you.
