Scarf Gift . . .

Here is a pic of a scarf I finished last month and sent to a very close friend for ther 90th birthday. It is knitted with two strands of handpainted silk and mohair. The colors are the favorites of the recipient, who as very surprised that I would know that information. It was knit with larger needles to give it a lighter, lacy feel. I was very lucky to find a ribbon with the exact same colors as the yarn. I have a little of the yarns left over, so now need to figure out what to do with it. It was much too expensive to just toss aside.

On the Simple Knits blog is this post that lists 500 free patterns that use 285 yards of yarn or less, sorted by yardage, with links to the patterns. Perhaps you'll find something nice to make with such pretty yarn.
