Thanks for all your suggestions about old, historical tradition and patterns (designs) of tablecloths [mainly MMario, JohnK, RickeScott, Kerry, knitmaniac (!!!), QueerJoe (the pattern is very, very difficult), and TomH].
I would like to show older example of tablecloth from National Museum in Wroclaw (Silesia region of Poland). Before The II War there were many "knitting carpets" (!!!) in this museum (now are only two pieces). This one, from picture, is from 1674, from Wroclaw Town hall . The measures are great: 215 cm x 310 cm. This kind of "carpets" were popular in Silesia, Bohemia and Alsace (Germany/France) - in places where were made. The knitting technique was complicate and controversial [two, three needles or extra frame (loom)].
