I knitted this from wool yarn in tan and some Nomad Mongolian Camel Yarn (hand-spun, hand-dyed...not by me, of course...) in dark brown. Another photo is attached.
Very nice! I really like the colors, and now a long list of questions. What is the pattern? What size needles did you use? I really think I need to make one like this. I am most interested in the top, how did you decrease like that?
Very nice work! These are my kinds of colors. Subdued...earthy!
What a great classic hat. The beauty is in its simplicity and the way you executed the pattern so neatly and the wonderful colours you have chosen. Great Knitting.
I actually designed this, although I'm sure that plenty of hats just like this have been made. I just wanted something simple. I used size 8 16" circulars and then size 8 DPNs when it got down to decreasing. When I got to the first decrease, I just k2tog on each rib, then p2tog for each purl "valley." I did a k1,p1 rib pattern for six rows before decreasing like this: k1, k2tog, etc... I just kept doing that until I thought there weren't too many stitches to bring my yarn through and close off the top (I think that was 6 or so?...maybe 8)

I wish I could knit hats....this is nice, though the dark coloured yarn seems bulkier than the lighter coloured yarn, or is that just me?
ehhh....show us a pic of you wearing it!!
'Why are you weeping? Did you imagine that I was immortal?'
The attached picture is of me wearing it. :-) The camel yarn was occasionally bulkier. LOL Other times it was thinner. All in all, though, it didn't get as wonky as I thought it would, so... YAY!
Oh wait...no it's not. Whoops. I guess I THOUGHT I attached it but didn't really.
