Vine Hat

So I made this yesterday after finishing the second sleeve for my sweater. I needed something to do as I walk around campus, and I love my circulars for this hat.
It is a very easy pattern:
CO 100
K1,P1 rib for 1 inch
Knit all remaining rounds to 4 1/2 to 5 1/2 inches
decrease by K2tog, K8 first round; K2tog, K7 second round....

It makes a very cool 10 point spiral decrease. This hat is for a buddy of mine, made to cover his ears, and I am making another one for another friend right now. I have decided that everyone I know that would wear one, is getting a hat for hands may never forgive me.

Very nice! What type of yarn?

Think less, enjoy it more.

The darkest blue is all wool, the lighter blue is Lion Brand Wooleze (80% wool?) and the lightest blue is this 100% acrylic that I HATE, but that the guy I made this for wanted me to use. I found the vine pattern online somewhere and just decided to have fun with it. I have so much of the acyrlic left....I think I am going to make him a sweater out of it and hope it shrinks and strangles him with its crappyness.

acrylic ain't gonna shrink.

MMario - I'm not divorced from reality - we're having a trial separation

So I was asked for the pattern, and I went back and found it. It is from the Vogue Knitting pattern library. It is the pattern at the bottom of this page.
