Highland Triangle Shawl

I just knit this shawl for a petite (probably all of 90 lb) friend of mine. I had to make significant pattern changes (lots fewer repeats) to make it an appropriate size. The original pattern from "Folk Shawls" by Cheryl Oberle makes a substantial shawl. It turned out great (I think).

I used a US #9 needle, and Debbie Bliss Donegal Luxury Tweed yarn. Other than the fewer repeats I followed the pattern exactly.

Beautifully done, I love that color! Is the yarn pure wool?

Veni, vidi, kniti.

The yarn is 85% wool and 15% angora. [But I always somehow manage to weave in a bit of Golden Retriever to the mix - not sure how that happens :) ]Rick

Some day i hope to try lace work.

Beautiful Job! I realized yesterday I had this book. I need to make something from it. It is a great book...and your wonderful work is a testament to that.

Just gorgeous, I love the color.

I gotta get me one of those trees! ;-)

I was just wondering if the shawl is a riper fruit from the scarf tree or whether this is a different knitting conifer.

I'd have to check some taxonimy charts, but this may be a giant coniferous kerchief :-)

OH, and great knitting!!! I love the color! and the workmanship!

Same conifer.....riper & bigger fruit. Hey - I don't have much around here to hang stuff on alright! *S*

Hey - Don't get me wrong, I like the photos....I usually just drape the thing on the couch.

Excellent workk and I LOVE the color! I've flipped through this book a few times in the store but I have yet to buy it. There's some really lovely items in it that I'd love to have a go at.
