Double-Pointed needles from Knit Picks

I recently had a hankering to knit a pair of socks using DPNs, despite my love of circular needles.

So I ordered a set of double pointed needles from Knit Picks, which arrived the other day. These are just as pointed and slippery as the Options interchangeable needles in nickel, and a pleasure to use.

The set comes with five of each size (2, 2.25, 2.5, 2.75, 3 and 3.25 mm). Having never previously knitted anything thinner than DK yarn, using a 4 ply sock yarn on 2.5 mm needles came as bit of a shock. Anyway, I have just turned my first heel and picked up the stitches to begin the foot.

Can thoroughly recommend the Knit Picks DPNs to anyone who likes their knitting fast and dangerous.

How did you get Knitpicks to ship abroad? They would not do so last year.

Alas, Knit Picks are as americocentric as ever and refuse to post outside North America. In Britain they are socked by Get Knitted, Bristol.

Glad the needles finally arrived. Have fun.

Yes, many thanks. Have enjoyed getting to grips with them in the limited pre-Christmas rush.

What length are these dpn's? I haven't done much work with dpn's, but I discovered that I prefer longer ones, about 10 inches.

I like longer ones too. It's easier to keep a grip on them and to manipulate them. If I remember correctly, knitpicks has 2 lengths...6 in and 8in.
