Knitting Bag Review (short)

About 2 years ago, just before I got pulled away from knitting, I bought a new knitting bag, my first. It was a Jordana Paige messenger bag. I see that they no longer make it in the color I got, but otherwise the current bags seem the same.

So, now that I have been knitting with the bag for a *little* while I though I would say a few words about it.

Overall I really really like it. I find that it carries a good amount of yarn and supplies. I can carry more then enough materials for a couple of the small projects that I work on. The front section expands by undoing a zipper, like a lot of suite cases do, if you need that little bit of extra room.

I wish the pocket that held the needles was attached a little lower. I have a set of needles that are just a little long such that I can't put them in that pouch. Other then that I find that there is an abundance of slots and pouches (1 of which is removable and has a separate zipper) such that every little thing has it own place. There is also a transparent holder for 8.5x11" patterns on the inside flag (see pictures).

The best thing about the bag for me is the way it looks. It does not scream 'knitting bag' to people who see it. That is something I was after, I wanted something a bit masculine and was having a hard time finding it. This was as close as I could come. If I did all my knitting at home I might have chosen a different (and cheaper!) bag. But, I like to go to coffee shops and knit.

The quality of the construction is very good. I have no complaints there at all. But, for this kind of money you would expect no less.

As I said before, overall I am happy with the bag. If you have the money to burn I would highly recommend it. If you aren't after a real 'man bag' I think you could probably get an equally useful bag for less. Or, if you are crafty, you could probably come up with something yourself. I like my toys, so this was good for me. :-)

Again, remember, I am a beginning knitter, so take this all with a grain of salt (or a dropped stitch or two). If you have any questions about the bag or wanted other pictures let me know.

PS. I have a few different pictures of the bag, but I can't seem to figure out how to attach more then one photo to this post.

Love the colors of yarn in your bag.

I do like bright primary colors. This current scarf I am knitting long-ways (180 cast-ons). It will be Seattle SeaHawks colors. I don't follow football myself, but I have a few friends that do. I will knit up a simple hat to match it once I am done.

Thanks for the review. I am thinking about the bag myself. I knit sweaters and need something a bit bigger.
