Feather & Fan Comfort Shawl

I found this free pattern on Ravelry... some of the pics of other people's projects were so inspiring. It was actually designed to use up "scrap" yarn from other projects. I love how vibrant and festive it looks with the yarn I had dyed for my sister! It reminds me of the older "Fiesta Ware" dishes that my sister collects.

If you check out the pic of the yarn below, I have decided that the yarn on the right will be next and I will finish the shawl with the yarn in the middle. I think those hanks flow best into one another. This is the yarn that I bought at The Fold in Marengo, IL and was custom dyed by Cathi Nuelle of www.StoneBarnFibers.com

That is really colorful, reminds me of the colors we saw in Guatemala. Great pattern, can't wait to see the finished project. Like all your yarn choices.

Yes... some Central American look to this definately!

When I first saw this the words of a nursery rhyme came to mind - 'Oranges and Lemons'. Just the colours to brighten up the winter. Lucky sister.

Honestly, I can't even begin to think what she might pair this with to wear... but, you are right... "brighten up winter"
