For Pi-Day

MMario's picture

Which is tomorrow, 3/14

Many of My designs tend to start off with every intention of being Pi Shawls but then veer off on strange tangants.

Two designs - one of which is nearly a pure pi, the other is for almost 10 rows.

I think I may have to try out one or both of these. From waht i can tell of the PI-neapple Strudel chart it looks like it would be pretty gorgeous.

That's the hopes, at least.

Mario, great patterns. I'm particularly intrigued with PI-neapple but I can't imagine the M15!

Okay okay I give up, I am not reading anymore of your blogs, lol. They are wonderful as usual my friend.

For reasons unknown to me I am having the desire to knit lace and I blame it all on you. Seriously considering the Queen Annes Lace Shawl.

Have you seen Kerrty's? Or Joe's? or Thor's? or Tom's? or Kenny's ? or that of half a dozen guys from MWK?

Yes, I have seen many of them on MWK, which is why it was the first thing I thought of when I thought "Lace"

Go for it. It's beautiful. You'll love it. And if you give it away, the recipient will love it and love you even more. I knitted three QAL's. Is that a record?

MMario's picture

couple of others have done three, Tom - you'll have to go for four to get a record.

Ok, so, I didn't work on a shawl, but, an amended version of it -- what I call the "Pi Poncho" where instead of starting out with a solid centre, I start at what would have been the increase to 72 stitches, rib for a collar, and then double that, and then knit the Pi shawl the rest of the way, doubling both depth and width as the pattern says.

...but just AS important -- it was the anniversary of the Master's birth! The great and wonderful Albert Einstein! I had to spend at least PART of the day perusing complex formulae -- literally creating music from them -- yes, creating music!

...and then took a bit of a break to watch the NOVA re-run on fractals!

So, all in all, it was a very productive math and science day yesterday masked by music and art (yeah, that's what they call knitting these days..."art").

NOVA re-run on fractals! Jealous! I don't have cable, but man that would be so much fun to watch.
