chemo caps

Jason1978's picture

So men!!.....Is there anyone out there kind enough to share some simple patterns for chemo-caps, though I am sure my hair will have grown back by the time I've finished the first one, I'd like to start knitting something simple, and perhaps I can get some of my friends to start knitting...

Up untill now I've been wearing YugiDeans cap.....which is lovely but is starting to look a bit threadbare

Hey Jason,

I know that they have several free hat patterns and specifically "chemo caps" on ravelry (I'm not sure if you're a member). Also, on the Lion Brand website ( you can find lots of free patterns for different hats that I'm sure you could add your own little design flare to. I hope this helps. If I think of any others, I'll let you know. Hope all is well. My thoughts and prayers are with you!

Hey, Jason - I know that Lion Brand Homespun is a really gentle yarn for the head when you've gone through chemo. I knit several simple berets for a friend of mine when she had hers. They cuddled her gently and kept her warm. The good thing is that they knit up quickly on size 9 or10 dpns. Hope you are doing well and recover fast. ---Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.

Dear Jason, I don't have any hat ideas but just wanted to say I am still thinking of and praying for you. I also might add, hair or no hair you will still be a knock out. Keep us posted on your progress and just know that there are a lot of fellow knitters rooting for you. Hugs...Jack

Visit Crafty Andy's Blog You know any kind of hat is a chemo hat, but maybe you won't even need them because they may be able to give you local radiation. I don't know how advanced the cancer is , but nowadays, not many people loose their hair. Chemotherapy is a bit gentler these days. If you do lose your hair , just shave your head use sunscreen and be happy. That cancer for your age group is very rare, but definitely fatal if not caught in time. I am glad that you are able to get treatment . Hang in there and there are plenty of Happy Days ahead of you!
