Manly Slip

The move from indy to dallas has changed my "cool guy shag" into something closer to a "homeless guy fro."Manly Hat

I could get a haircut, but i think it is just the excuse i need to make more hats.

I just made the "Manly Slip-Stitched Hat" from the book Just Hats.

I used 2 strands of wool ease instead of kool wool (it is what I had around)

I think it turned out pretty well. I am very pleased with the rows of V's and _'s.

I like it a lot. Well done.

As for a hair cut, my hair has grown so long I'm waitng a few more weeks then donating my hair to 'Locks for Love'. A charity that makes wigs for child who have lost their hair due to cancer.

i was thinking about that too & I figure i am half way there, but i am not sure if i can stand the long curls for another six months to a year.

I really dig it! The pattern has alot more visual action than plain striping.

Good job!

it's just a pattern of aternating slips and knits on one side and purls on the back.

Impressive hat! My hair is too... much to wear them.

shave your head!  :-)  That was finally my solution for my locks.  Great hat, by the way.  Is that a good book?  Say, I love the Serge Gainsbourg song on your home page.  Haven't heard him for a lonnnng time.

Think less, enjoy it more.

it's a pretty good book. It's both knit and crochet and published by lion brand, so it is not hard to find the yarns.

Not many mens patterns, but the ones it has are pretty good.

it also has several charts for making patternless hats based on gauge swatches.

(I've tried shaving my head, and plan to start shaving again once it stops growing or thins out)
