this isnt meant to be....annoying but one day i was working and taking a typing test and realized that i should try it with knitting. i averaged 46 spm, more than i type..i laughed and told my boss....he wasn'y impressed....oops
That's pretty respectable. I type 90 wpm, but I probably knit more like 30. Of course it varies a lot depending on whether you're in the round or flat, how large the needles are, and so forth.
Now my boss runs a knitting guild and I know she'd be impressed by your speed. I've been trying to teach her to spin but it's slow going.
now you've gone and given me something ELSE to have to pay attention to!!!!!!
The last time I did a continuous knit stitch was on a scarf knit in-the-round and I clocked myself doing up to 70 stitches per minute, but I think it's helpful when it's on circulars -- I feel like I have more control and don't fear dropping a stitch or a needle and the yarn almost pushes itself around the needle. My average is between 50 and 60.
Well, I knit European so it's kind of a no-brainer. I mean, it's akin to crocheting, really. Of course, being O/C, tactile fixated and a confirmed FibreHolic, what's one to expect?
