Squares from Istanbul

Wow ... this is my third attempt to upload these images... I keep getting a 'lovely' error message. I am lucky that it is a Sunday afternoon and I don't have much to do otherwise I would be swearing at this delightful computer and my broadband width... fotunately I don't have many pressing engagements except to get on a bus to catch up with my bf for dinner etc.
So on third attempt, gone are the flowery words, the bare basics only.

A garter stitch border and double woven stitch used for the centre. Wanted texture and nothing flash because I'd take too long... needs to be posted soon, and flash usually means I stuff it up completely...

Rick bought the yarn. Rick supervised the gauge and setting of the stitches and yes.... Rick is going to post them... thank god for Rick... He's going to post our squares on Thursday on his way to the beach. Lucky bugger. Imagine an 18 km beach all to himself... heaven.

So I hope the squares are ok.... fingers crossed.

Most lovely, Dave. I wish I was computer literate enough to post pictures. Of course, I'd have to own a camera first. Lovely photo of your dog, also. Keep up the good knitting. - Joe -- Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.

Good job! I like how you incorporated two different textures into one square.

Thanks guys... I told my fresh/brand new/new model bf ... that I knit. I told him about MWK ... and before he could make any judgement I told him about the project for Jason's blanket... wow ... I think he now realises how support network operate. He was blown away by it. And he's not even a member... I certainly appreciate the support and encouragement from you guys... thanks

I reckon we should have a lottery to guess how many blankets Jason is actually going to receive. If Kyle indicated in an early post that he requires 70 squares and lots of people have submitted 6 or 8 and at any one time there are about 1000 people participating online ... I wonder how many squares Kyle will actually receive.

By the way I can't wait to try Jason's link to his performance ... to conduct a piece like that is exhausting at the best of times... he is one gutsy character ...

Cheers guys
