MMario's Queen Anne's Lace

Here it is!!!

This is my latest lace piece. It's MMario's Queen Anne's Lace shawl. This was an absolute JOY to knit. The pattern is very well written and very easy to follow. I was particularly pleased with how easy it was to "read" the stitches below as you go along to make sure you're at the right place at the right time with each repeat of the pattern. I started this right around the beginning of April and finished knitting it this past Tuesday. I blocked it on Thursday night. I had to pull another rug next to my usual "blocking rug" to have enough room for it. I haven't measured it, but as you can see from the photos it's ample sized.

The yarn is Harrisville "New England Shetland" in the lilac colorway and it was knit on size 9 needles. I used seven full skeins and a bit of the eighth to do the last purl round and the bind off. It took me just about two hours to bind off as per the pattern.

The ladies at my LYS (Trumpet Hill Fine Yarns and Accents) talked me into entering this at the Altamont Fair in August and the New York State Sheep And Wool Festival in October.

“Those that will and those that won’t”

Every person I encounter teaches me more about myself. Without whom not.

So you should enter this as it is another of your beautiful pieces. I love the colourway too.

That is absolutely gorgeous. I wonder if I could use a cotton thread and then use it for a table cloth ? It is so beautiful, it would be perfect on a round table. Great job.

wow I am jealous, I tried yesterday....well lets just say I don't want to start anything I will probably not be able to finish, I am crap at knitting on more than 2 needles, so it just ain't gonna work!

chapeau to you though!

Spectacular. I look forward to seeing it in Rhinebeck come October. We already have our reservations at the hotel.

Two weeks ago while in Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival, I was thinking of you as I picked up some of Maggies Espresso soap that she had there. Hopefully, she will have more in Rhinebeck.

The color of the shawl is wonderful. How do you keep the children (the dogs) off it while blocking. I always have to be careful when blocking due to my 9lbs of tortiseshell impishness Maisie. She can open doors, cabinets, drawers etc.

Wow...nice job! This is a reminder that I need to post pictures of my QAL, which I gave to my mom for mother's day. I would definitely agree that this has been one of my favorite projects to knit.
