You Know You're a Knit Maniac When....

You find out your friend is pregnant and you're not immediately happy for them; you're happy because you get to knit baby stuff.
My friend Erica spilled the beans that she's 3 months pregnant (a planned accident) and got I really happy because I get to knit for the baby. How bad is that?

Not bad at all. I'm certainly not a person that gets excited about little babies...but I do think they look incredibly cute in handknit items :-)

babies have this scent that is unique to babies...and a feel, and WARMTH and they snuggle into your shoulder with perfect trust and close their eyes, then they either vomit all down your back or pee alll down your front.....

it's bliss.

I'm taking a layette to England this weekend and look forward to cuddling the latest family member - and I won't mind the vomit and pee one bit. Mario, you said it perfectly.

That's one advantage to being an uncle, granduncle and, now, great-granduncle: I can avoid all that vomit and bodily function mess. I get to spoil the dickens out of them and send them home! (With knit goodies, of course.) -- Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.

*grins* yeah but, then they grow up O.o I love babies, and I swear it's that smell that causes women to be addicted and get that baby hungry feeling. Before delivering my son, I told the doctor I wanted immediately after to be fixed permanently, because I knew I'd have more if I could. I had to save me from myself.

I just found out one of my best friends and his wife are trying to get pregnant. I told him that even if they don't find out the baby's sex, I need to know for the layette. BSJ here I come!

How true. With all the wonderful colorways out there, you can make up a layette that will be perfect for any baby, regardless of gender. Have fun with the BSJ. -- Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.

If we are trying to break down stereotypes, why are we perpetuating the myth about "boy" and "girl" colours? Babies look good in all colours... especially the bright and pure ones! Use whatever makes YOU happy!

Not to sound stupid, but what is 'BSJ'?
