Some newly spun yarn

One of the older ladies I know has been cleaning out her basement so she can have some room to move around, and came across a bag of some wool. She must have bought this fleece long ago, although she has no recollection of when or why (how can that happen?) She doesn't know if she washed it or not, but much of it is quite matted. I was able to find a lock or two that was easier to work with, and so I combed them and made a small roving. It's really lovely stuff!

So she gave the bag to me... yes, like I need more fleece?! But at least, she got rid of it, and that's all she wanted.

I spun up that little roving I made with my trusty CD spindle. It wanted to be spun fine, so I did as I was told. I made two little cops, and then plied it, and made a little skein. You can see a pic in my album. I'm not sure what I will do with it... I do have more fleece to try and pick through, so maybe I'll make more. And then? Well, let's see when I get there.
