Rhinebeck stash

Just a quickie to show what I got at Rhinebeck. You can see it's mostly spinning fiber. I managed to get only one fun yarn, having specific projects to buy for. That impulse yarn was so delightful that I finished knitting it up by the time I got home from the weekend. It's wool and silk. I'm only sad that I blocked the life out of it. I liked how most of it hung before blocking; now it's too droopy. It's still comfy and I wear it often, but it's just not as delightful as it was at first.

Hi WillyG,

I recently reconnected on Facebook with someone that I hung out with in my twenties - turns out Heidi is now a breeder of Icelandic sheep and also spent her weekend at Rhinebeck. I think next year I'm going to have to make a road trip of it. We have the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival here in May, but...this time of year I'm wanting more fleece!

Think less, enjoy it more.

Very fun! I was at Maryland just last May, being my first sheep and wool fest. I hope I may make it again this coming year, if I don't get too much on my plate. I hear you on the fleece...I get cold in my room and just want more cuddly fiber all around me. Over the summer, I didn't feel like touching roving at all. I think I managed to avoid it for several months.

What a great stash!! Way to go. I've never been to Rhinebeck. I've really only been the the Estes Park Wool Festival. Have fun with all of your stash and projects!!

Really cool knitting, Willy. The spinning stash looks great also. The overblocking should fix itself the next time you wash the project. Hope so. -- Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.
