My Holiday Baking is Conflicting with My Knitting!

I was very cranky last night. I had no knitting time at all because I had to get started on the Holiday baking. I'm even more cranky because I have to do the same tonight. I usually enjoy baking but I'm really rocking on my current sweater. Most years I would blow off the baking for knitting; however, my entire family is coming for Christmas. Uggh!

I think I will not take it out on the baking but store my anger up and unleash it on my family. After all, they are ultimately to blame. Ahhh....a normal, disfunctional Holiday.

Why don't you just ask them to bring the items you planned on baking? After all, you're hosting. I come from a very "potluck" kind of family.

Feel for you, Buck. Tom's suggestion is a good one, however. Our family potlucks started out because it was a great way to have up to 40 people gather and still stretch the costs out. Hope you are appreciated for all the work you put into the hosting. -- Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.

Great idea but they are flying in from all over the country. Anyway, just finished yet another batch, five dozen Hazel Berry Cookies.

Gee, Buck, if I hitchhike into the Portland area, may I sneak in? Sounds lovely. Oh wait...too many commitments here at home. Rats!! Hope you have a nice Holiday. -- Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.
