New to Knitting

Hello everyone! Just a little bit more about myself: I am completely new to knitting - I just started teaching myself today, haha. I have been crocheting since I was about 8 years old, but as I grew older I began to form an interest in knitting as well. So I began researching it and here I am. I guess I'm off to a decent start. I guess having some history in crocheting helped out a little.

I am exicted to be a part of this new community! I was happy to have stumbled across this website. I look forward to getting to know many of you.

Don't forget the most important part, BALLS!  welcome aboard.

and ljust like crochet, it's one stitch at a time.

MMario - I'm not divorced from reality - we're having a trial separation

Just wanting to add my own welcome.  Congratulations on teaching yourself to knit; I hope you find that it's a life-enhancing hobby (or as Matt would say, "obsession"!)

Pay no attention to the rest of these guys.  This site is a very high-brow, 'On-Task' group that rarely varies from it's goal of Perfection flowing from the tips of their needles - ART, if you will.  All discussions are of the DEEPEST water, a reservoir of high intellectual pursuits and Edgy design.   The very cream of the Fibre Community happily convenes here, all afloat upon a cloud of self-assurance and . . . . uh, . . . . . . . . oh!

My goodness.  I must have been napping . . . Horrible nightmare, that!

Ah! There you are, Ohio.  Welcome to the group.  Very chatty bunch, full of fun and ribaldry.  (Isn't that a great word??? We don't hear it nearly often enough!)  Yell if you need help or need to VENT.  Not that any of us  E V E R  vent.  God forbid!

Alles Beste,

~Mike in Tampa ( who remembers back in '70 a terrific date in Ohio in Delaware at OWU. I think Tina Turner was performing and after that I ended up at the TKE house on campus and, and, and then I don't remember anything else.  Anyway, I guess I had fun . . .)

Dear O,   I'm completely self taught too.  You hang in there and stick with it.  Nothing is as neato as seeing the work you produce become more and more like you imagine it should be.
