Magic Loop Socks

Good Morning All,

Well I choose something new for a quick project. I have knitted a lot of socks using double pointed needles and chose to make this pair using the magic loop method. Think I like it. What is your preference when knitting socks?

Regards & Thanks,
JRob

Some new pics of yesterday's accomplishments. I think I like the new method.

Hounds Tooth for a Hound

One of our dogs is always cold. She sleeps under the blankets and as close to the fire as possible without going up in flames. I decided to quick-knit this coat for her. I was amazed at the hounds tooth pattern I was able to knit. She is loving this garment and she doesn't try to get it off. I want to make her another but next time a pull-on jumper instead of a coat with buttons. Does anyone have some links to dog patterns to suggest? I thought I'd get recommendations first before just wading into the internet.

Wrist Warmers

I bought Arne and Carlos's new book "Norwegian Knits with a Twist" and really liked the wrist warmers. The pattern called for a dk weight which I couldn't find but did find some suitable Jamieson Smith Shetland in 4 ply jumper weight. I had to swatch and do a bit of math to achieve the correct size. They were a fun knit.

study on men who knit ???

Has anyone else responded to the call for participants by Ann Morneau?

She claims:" The aim of my study is to convey the
stories and experiences of men who knit. My area of specialization in
gender studies is masculinity, so the research will focus on men's
experiences in an activity that is still socially gendered as a "female"
activity. "

Mock Cable Rib Stitch Infinity Scarf

My mom turns 88 today, so I made a scarf for her birthday. Nothing real fancy or complicated, but a nice accessory with some amazing texture. She taught me how to knit when I was about 10, and it's been a life skill that has brought much joy into my life.
