How do you handle being "odd man out" ?

How do you handle being "odd man out" because of the hobby (knit/crochet) that you enjoy so much ?? I really enjoy crochet and I read books for fun. These are not typical "masculine" activities. I love both of these hobbies, but I have to enjoy crochet pretty much as a loner because there are so few of us. I am a member of a local chapter of CGOA where I am the only male member. I really enjoy the group, but would like to find or start a men's group in Lake Couny, IL

Go where the yarn takes you.

Any Men Knitting in Southeast Michigan?

Hi Men,

I think knitting is a terrific way to relax. Would love to find other guys in the Southeast Michigan (Detroit, Ann Arbor) area who would like to get together and knit. It would be great to have some good conversation partners while working on projects. Hope guys will message me if you are in my area and interested!

Hetman vest by Olga Casey

I am attempting this vest (http://olgacasey.blogspot.com/2011/08/hetman.html), but being a relatively new knitter, I have questions.

First, I need to up-size this a bit, any clues as to how o do this?
Second, there are instructions to "add a stitch" for the back of the vest. Does this mean I should make a stitch, or is there another technique I need to learn?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Menknit.net

Yesterday, I was sorting through old knitting patterns and etc and I found some articles from "Menknit - the world's first 'zine for men who knit". The last issue I have is dated 2006. I suppose I had forgotten all about them over the years as I've moved away from spending so much time at the computer. I did try their web address (www.menknit.net) but it only comes up as a resource page.
So, does anyone know what's become of this e-zine or the man who created it?
